Kamaljit Singh Banwait is a multi-talented personality. He has repute not only in Punjabi Journalism, but he is an excellent writer/editor of five books, thousands of articles & a Producer of four TV Serials also. He always wants to enhance his skills while making a useful contribution qualitatively to the assigned work area and maximize output through result oriented and focused efforts leading to growth as a professional and as an individual. He resides in Mohali (Punjab, India)

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION :

• Passed B.A. (Hons. In Punjabi) from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in 1976-77.

• Passed Bachelors in journalism from Punjabi University,Patiala in April 1978

• Passed M.A. Political Science from EIILM University in July 2010-12

PROFFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE :

• Working as a journalist for last 25 years.

• Presently working as a STAFF REPORTER with PUNJABI TRIBUNE, Chandigarh for the last 7 years.

• Worked as a STRINGER in the Punjabi tribune from 1995-2007

• Served as SUB EDITOR in a daily, AKALI PATRIKA,Jalandhar from 2nd sept.1978-30th June 1980

• Also worked in a weekly, PUNJAB TIMES, London from 1st June 1982 to 1st Nov. 1988

• Worked as ASSISTANT EDITOR in a monthly, DES PUNJAB from 10th Aug.1984-15th May 1985

• Served as EDITOR of a monthly journal SAINI DUNIYA for One and a Half year.

• Worked as REPORTER with SITI CHANNEL, Chandigarh for 4 years (1989-1993)

• Produced four T.V. serials -

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Awarded Shiromani Patarkar Award in 2011 by the Punjab Government

• The only staff reporter to have received an APPRECIATION LETTER and a CASH PRIZE from the Editor-In-Chief of The Tribune Group in 2003 for hard work and excellent job done.

• Received Award of Honour (2010) from Chief Khalsa Diwan.

• Over 1 dozen honours/awards from various NGOs and societies for contribution to journalism and social work.
